Wilderness Survival Skills

Allen Street Campus students are learning and practicing Wilderness Survival Skills.  Here we are at Lake Bomoseen State Park learning about making safe fires in the woods, hiking, cooking, and enjoying team building activities They have learned that “Leave No Trace” is essential to preservation of our environment.  Dehydrated chicken and dumplings were on the menu, and on the trip before that it was dehydrated chili both made over the fire! Numerous students commented that the fire is very calming for them. Another plus is that they are developing stronger connections with each other and understanding nature and how it plays an important part of our lives. This program will be continuing through the end of the school year.
